  1. I was happy when I heard about this pick b/c I just bought the book a few days ago (abridged version, c. 1949). I read the first half last night, and then Eric made me turn off the light, but I'm enjoying it! Easy read, and great tale of greed, "justice", & carefully planned revenge.

  2. Ending - not so good. I think I need to watch the movie again.

  3. You really should read the unabridged. It's worth the time and effort. One of the best books ever!

  4. Just an alright read for me. I had the unabridged version and had trouble getting into it. The language is so different from now! I liked the suspense and the characters. I really loved the movie :)

  5. The movie ends happily, but the book does not, so which version is "better?" You cannot go wrong with Jim Cavaziel. Thats all I'm saying.

  6. This really is one of my favorite books (the unabridged version), but it definitely takes some dedication and perseverance to get into it in the beginning, and even at times, throughout. Such a tale! Way better than the movie.
